Kano State deputy governor and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Dr Nasir Yusuf Gawuna has finally accepted defeat and congratulated the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) candidate, Abba Kabir Yusuf, who won the gubernatorial election held on March 18, 2023.

In a congratulatory message contained in a short audio recording, Gawuna prayed and hoped that the governor-elect would discharge his duties according to the laws of the land.

“We are going to be law-abiding citizens”, he said, and called on members of the APC in the state to accept it as the will of God. He prayed for peace and tranquility to reign in Kano and Nigeria in general.”

This came a few hours after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) presented the certificate of return to Yusuf at the commission’s headquarters.
