Barely a week after 25 people die in a ghastly motor accident in Bauchi State, another nine persons have been killed and five others injured in two separate road crashes in the state yesterday.

The sector commander of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Bauchi, Yusuf Abdullahi, who confirmed the accidents, said the first crash occurred yesterday at about 0625hrs along the ever-busy Jos-Bauchi Expressway.

Abdullahi said the accident involved a Toyota Hiace with a registration number, KGG 26 LG and a Peugeot Boxer J5 without a registration number, both used for commercial purposes.

“Five male adults were involved in the crash who all died as they were burnt beyond recognition due to the fire that engulfed the vehicles following a tyre burst as well as loss of control (LOC). The burnt corpses and the vehicles were handed over to Nigeria Police Force (NPF) Toro Division,” he said.
