Shettima who made this known in a recent engagement with the National Association of Tricycles and Motorcycles Owners and Riders of Nigeria in Abuja encouraged them to continue to be law-abiding citizens as the incoming administration is poised to make their life better.

The vice president-elect who said that there is no burden leaders carry that is greater than the burden of trust said that the motorcycle and tricycles riders are authentic representatives of the people and that they should be rest assured that the incoming administration will do whatever it takes to protect and preserve their interest.

“I want to assure you that we will hold on to your trust. You are citizens of this country and stakeholders in the Nigerian project, whether now or in the future, nobody has the right to oppress, intimidate or dehumanize you and make you feel less of a man,” he said.

Earlier, the north central zonal coordinator for progressive ambassadors, Engr Badru Abdul Rafiu, said that they have chosen not to be onlookers, and decided to be part of nation builders championed by Asiwaju and Kashim Shettima.

“The progressive ambassadors have taken it upon ourselves to bring this democracy on board.  We decided to support the incoming administration because the president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was the first to sympathise with the downtrodden Nigerians during the new Naira policy.

“I can tell you that members of this association bear most of the brunt of this policy and we believe that the only people who make things better are Asiwaju and Shettima,” he said.

Also, the national president MATOMORAS/ national director of community transport, Usman Gwoza had told the vice president-elect that they have been facing the challenge of having their motorcycles sophisticated and crushed by the authorities.

“I know that when you are inaugurated that thing would be resolved. Some state governors, including the FCT, used to crush our motorcycles. One motorcycle presently costs N500,000. No law says you should cease motorcycles and crush them in the presence of the owners. We believe that your administration will change many things in Nigeria,” he said.
