Imo Diaspora Support for governor Hope Uzodimma has said it was overjoyed to learn that the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State has once again nominated the state governor Senator Hope Uzodimma, to be its standard bearer for the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Imo State. It said that Governor Uzodimma deserves four more years to complete many of his laudable projects and programmes in the state.

In a statement made available to LEADERSHIP in Abuja from its base in Finland, convener and coordinator of Imo diaspora support for Uzodimma, Ochiagha Nnanna Okere congratulated Governor Hope Uzodimma for being found worthy once again to fly the flag of their great party the APC and also congratulated the party’s leadership, delegates and others who ensured that Ndi Imo were given opportunity to re-elect a leader who has transformed Imo State beyond recognition in all indices of development.

He said, “We are also particularly excited because about four years ago when we launched Imo Diaspora Support For Senator Hope Uzodimma 2019 to canvass support for Senator Hope Uzodimma to emerge governor of Imo State many did not give Uzodimma any chance of emerging candidate of the party or even winning the election.

“At the time the then governor Rochas Okorocha was looming large over the party and the state. We were undaunted by the challenges and was optimistic that if only Uzodimma will be given a chance his performance would be so amazing that Ndi Imo would thank the Almighty for giving them such a governor and that they would quickly forget the years of the locust under Rochas Okorocha.

“In the last three and a half years, despite the shenanigans by the opposition and the violence they have unleashed on the state to make the state ungovernable and thus distract the governor from fulfilling his campaign promises to the people, Uzodimma has remained focused and the records are showing excellent performances in all indices of development including; education, health, agriculture, infrastructure, and human capital development and general wellbeing of the workers.

He has reformed the state civil service and made it more productive and to meet the challenges that had hitherto made it difficult to operate efficiently.”

He said the governor had built roads and restored pipe borne water in many parts of the state and has also tackled the security challenges with uncommon determination and that the result is there for everyone to see, adding that his Shared Prosperity administration has never disappointed the people.

“It is therefore fitting that Uzodimma has been given another opportunity by the party to superintendent over the affairs of the state for another four years. If Uzodimma’s first four years has been this remarkable, we in the Diaspora is saying ‘you aren’t seen nothing yet.”

The speaker said said Uzodimma has made Imo proud by his excellent performance in the past three and a half years and we are proud to have seen it coming when many others thought otherwise.

“Hope Uzodimma that like in 2019 we are with him all the way until he is returned elected by the people for another four years and announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in November 2023,” he added.
