In a statement on its Facebook page, the club confirmed that the accident was caused by brake failure.

“To God be the glory, no injuries and no lives were lost. On our way back from Lagos after yesterday’s Federation Cup final to Ebonyi State today (29/6/2025), one of our vehicles (the officials’ bus) experienced brake failure and collided with a moving truck from the rear,” the statement read.
