Abbas Redefining Leadership, Say Northern Youths

Team Muqaddas, in collaboration with the Tukur Tukur Youth for Political Progression, has commemorated the second anniversary of Rt. Hon. Dr. Abbas Tajudeen’s leadership as Speaker of the House of Representatives, describing his tenure as a symbol of unity and legislative transformation.

The event, held in Zaria, featured Comrade Abdul Azeez Suleiman as Guest Speaker. Suleiman praised Speaker Abbas for navigating the National Assembly through a turbulent political climate marked by division and uncertainty when he assumed office in 2023.

“Nigeria needed a leader who could bridge divides and foster dialogue among diverse groups. Speaker Abbas has not only risen to this challenge but has redefined leadership with integrity, compassion, and dedication to national unity,” he said.

Highlighting Abbas’ achievements, Suleiman said the Speaker has championed inclusiveness, ensured that all voices are heard, and prioritized the people’s agenda by translating citizens’ aspirations into actionable policies.

He also commended Aliyu Garba Waziri, liaison officer to the Speaker, for his contributions in strengthening legislative engagement with the grassroots.

Looking ahead, Suleiman proposed a strategic political plan for the people of Zaria Federal Constituency to reelect Abbas to the House in 2027 and support his continuation as Speaker in the 11th National Assembly.

He linked this move to broader efforts to position the North for the 2031 presidential race.

“As we anticipate the coming political transitions, it is crucial to consolidate leadership and present a credible northern candidate,” he added.

The celebration concluded with a renewed call from youth leaders for sustained political unity and support for Speaker Abbas’ legislative vision.
