The gunmen who kidnapped the Ojibara of Bayagan in Ifelodun local government area of Kwara State, Alh Kamilu Salami, have contacted his family.
A family member of Oba Salami said the kidnappers called them early morning on Sunday to demand N150m ransom.
LEADERSHIP Weekend had reported that the monarch was kidnapped on Saturday on his farm around 9:30 am.
Some people close to the kidnapped monarch confirmed the abduction of the monarch by gunmen who stormed the farm and whisked the traditional ruler away.
The alarm was raised when fellow farmers in the area could not locate Alhaji Salami but found his motorcycle abandoned on the farm premises.
This sparked concerns, prompting a search among the villagers.
A source from the community disclosed that a farmer from a neighbouring village witnessed the abduction of the monarch.
At the time of filing this report, neither the state police command nor the state government had confirmed or denied the abduction of the monarch.
