Abia State commissioner for Basic Education, Goodluck Ubochi, has explained that the ongoing 2025 Digital Annual School Census is a well-intentioned initiative designed to improve education planning.
In an interview with LEADERSHIP, Ubochi said the census aims to collect accurate, up-to-date data on public, private, unity, military, paramilitary, and faith-based schools across the state.
“The data will offer valuable insights into the state of education and help the government make informed decisions,” he said.
Schools are required to log into the official portal [www.nemiserp.com/cas](http://www.nemiserp.com/cas) using their official school code and submit their data by month’s end.
“The portal is compatible with smartphones, tablets, and computers. Schools can use any internet-enabled device to complete the process,” he said.
The commissioner warned that schools failing to participate may be classified as non-existent and risk closure.
