The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) member representing Ukwa West constituency in Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Erondu Uchenna-Erondu, has said that President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 in the state is non-negotiable.
Uchenna-Erondu stated this when the deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu visited him to woo him to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Umuahia, the state capital.
The chairman of the House Committee on Public Service Matters, assured that the president would not only win the election in the state but also secure 100 percent in Abia South.
The lawmaker, who urged Kalu to heed the call by his supporters to seek a higher office in the election, noted that he too was convinced that his services were needed beyond the constituency now.
While thanking Kalu and his entourage for the visit and the invitation to join the APC, he added that another phase of his empowerment programme had been scheduled for April 11 this year.
Speaking earlier, Kalu made it clear that they came to invite Uchenna-Erondu, who had served Obingwa local government area, and the state in different capacities to join the APC.
Kalu, who represents Bende federal constituency at the National Assembly lauded the PDP member for his recent N1 billion hospital equipment and empowerment programme.
His words:”Remaining in the PDP is under-developing yourself. APC needs people with potentials like you. This is the right time for you to come over. There is life in APC.
”Your membership of the APC will not only boost its numerical strength but will also provide you ample opportunities to work with like minds for the interest of the state.”
He argued that it would be in the interest of the state that President Bola Tinubu is returned in 2027 hence the need for a collaboration with the state lawmaker for the project
”To be honest with you, I have seen a courageous man in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We are not there yet, but we have left where we used to be for years before now.”
On the programme held over two weeks ago, he said “I am here to honour him for old time’s sake. We have been together as local government chairmen and allies since 2003.”
