Women leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party, Abia State chapter have passed a vote of confidence on the chairman, Abraham Amah, the State Working Committee, and the State Executive Committee.

The chapter has since last week been engaged in a disagreement with the National Working Committee of the party sequel to its suspension of the Board of Trustees chairman, Senator Adolphus Wabara.

Their leader, Fidelia Ukejianya stated this while speaking to LEADERSHIP after they paid a solidarity visit to the chairman at its secretariat in Umuahia, the state capital.

She reaffirmed their “unwavering confidence in the leadership of the chairman, Amah, and his team for their commitment to imbibing discipline and fostering unity among the members”.

“We’re in agreement with the ongoing reconciliation and disciplinary measures taken by the leadership to restore order and discipline among the members. This is highly commendable,” she noted.

The women leader reiterated their dedication to upholding the ideals of the party and to “work tirelessly to strengthen the party and advance its vision for the people of the state”.

Speaking earlier, Amah charged them to be more proactive in their localities by mobilizing more women into the party, emphasizing that all hands must be on deck.

The chairman also called for their support for the leadership in preparation for the 2027 general election, underscoring the need for the party to be returned to power in the state.

He encouraged them, as ambassadors of the party, to take care of their homes, stressing that their position should not lead them to being abusive or disrespectful to their spouses.
