The member-elect for Ohafia South state constituency in Abia State, Hon. Kalu Mba Nwoke, has said restoration of the state is a collective project of the people and should not be left to Governor Alex Otti alone.

Nwoke stated this yesterday while speaking to LEADERSHIP Weekend in Umuahia ahead of the proclamation of the 8th Assembly by Otti, saying he was already prepared to play his own role.

“Expectations from the governor are very high. Fortunately, given his track record in service and connections he will be able to weather the storm. Yet, he still needs our collective support.

“Each and every one of us must be ready to work and make the necessary contributions and sacrifices to move the state forward. We can’t afford to allow it remain where it has been all these 24 years.

“To succeed, Otti needs our total support, loyalty, prayers and sincerity of purpose as well as being alive to our civic responsibilities and committed to our jobs either in the private sector or public service,” he said.

The Labour Party member who said his part as a legislator had already been cut for him, reiterated his commitment to delivering democracy dividends to the constituency to make a difference.

According to the former deputy leader of Ohafia 4th legislative council from 2016 to 2018, the experiences he gathered at that level, though minor, had prepared him for the task ahead.

He commended the people for the confidence reposed in him in the March 25 election, assuring that he would deliver on his campaign promises.

Meanwhile, members of the council have paid him a solidarity/congratulatory visit at his Asaga Ohafia country home, pledging their loyalty and support.

Speaking on their behalf, Hon. Onwuka Kalu Ifegwu said both during and after their tenure, Nwoke had maintained a good personal relationship with everyone of them.
