Abiodun Distributes N200m Grants To Ogun CDCs For Grassroots Projects

As part of the activities marking the  2022 edition of the Community Day, Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has distributed the sum of N200 million to Community Development Committees (CDCs)to enable them fast track the Public – Private sector partnership grassroots developmental projects at their respective domains.

The governor, who made the distribution in Abeokuta, the state capital, said the money was meant to support the efforts of the landlords in the over 600 CDCs and Community Development Associations (CDAs) across the state for their initiatives towards ensuring that Ogun communities get mini-infrastructural projects towards making them “habitable and secured.”

Presenting cheques to chairmen and representatives of the CDCs and CDAs across the three Senatorial districts of the state at the event which was held at the MKO Abiola International Stadium, Abiodun disclosed that he has approved up to N5 million as funds for projects considered to be really outstanding to be grant-aided in different communities in the state.

The governor, who also acknowledged cheers from members of the different trade organisations and artisan groups present at the event, explained that his administration has equally approved the sum of N500 million to cater for Micro Small and Medium Scale Enterprise (MSMEs) in the state.

He disclosed that he has directed that a revolving loan facility of N500 Million be instituted to cater for the much needed MSMEs financial support, a scheme which he said will be launched before the end of this year.
