The reinstated Speaker of the Plateau House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nuhu Abok, has resumed office f the following judgement of the State High Court on Monday.
Abok drove into the Assembly complex a few minutes to 10am on Tuesday morning and then headed straight to the Speaker’s office.
Some lawmakers were seen with the Speaker in his office and there were indications that the House may likely sit in plenary.
It was gathered that the Clerk of the State House of Assembly and the State’s Commissioner of Police, have been served with the order of court reinstating Abok as Speaker.
Chuwang Paul, Counsel to the Gwottson Fom, member representing Jos South State constituency and Tyem Pirfa Jinfa, member representing Langtang North Constituency, who were claimants in the suit confirmed that the Clerk and the CP were served with the order of court on Monday.
Justice Musa of the State High Court had reinstated Abok Ayuba as the speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly while granting an injunction restraining the hitherto Speaker, Yakubu Sanda, from parading himself as the Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly.
Abok while speaking to newsmen shortly after taking over office, appreciated the security agencies and the general public for their support.
He called on the former Speaker, Hon. Sanda, representing Pengana State constituency to join him and other members of the House to commence sitting for the day.
