Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced a shift in the date for the implementation of the new tariff toll fare at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA) from July 17 to August 1, 2023.

In a statement released yesterday in Abuja and signed by the FAAN management, the postponement aims to allow airport users to continue benefiting from the current charges for a little longer.

Under the new tariff, the fare for cars will increase from N200 to N300, while buses and Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs) will experience a change from N300 to N500.

Similarly, the tariff for trucks (six tyres) will shift from N500 to N1,000, and for trailers and containers, it will be N2,000.

The management urged the public to take note of the changes in the effective date and tariff, while also appealing to vehicle owners to utilise the dedicated “park and pay” car parks provided for the convenience of airport users.

The statement emphasized the importance of adhering to the drop-off zones rules and regulations to facilitate smooth traffic flow and maintain a serene environment around the airport. Commercial drivers are reminded to use the drop-off zone solely for dropping passengers, as the airport already has registered car hire services (FAAN TAXI, BOLT, UBER) available along the airport exit way for passenger pick-up.

For the comfort of frequent fliers and high-status individuals, an exclusive parking lot is designated for heads of MDAs, MDs of private companies, and other recognized individuals, with VIP parking stickers available for those seeking VIP parking privileges.

The management appreciated the cooperation of airport users and encouraged them to verify their parking status and pay when necessary to avoid any inconveniences and ensure the smooth flow of traffic in and out of the airport.

In conclusion, FAAN reassured passengers, concessioners, and stakeholders of its commitment to their safety, security, and comfort while using or passing through the airport, reaffirming its dedication to the core values of safety, security, and comfort. (NAN)
