Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe has addressed the controversy surrounding his on-screen role with actress and reality star Bamike Olawunmi-Adenibuyan, known as Bambam.

Speaking during an interview with BBC Igbo, Arukwe dismissed rumours suggesting he was romantically involved with the married actress following their roles in a film together.

The actor reiterated that he was careful during filming and even discussed boundaries with Bambam before performing scenes that required physical contact, stressing that he did not want to do anything that could jeopardise her marriage.

“Before I touched her, I asked her if there was any way I could touch her that her husband wouldn’t like or that might cause problems at home,” he said.

Arukwe further denied claims that the two were intimate off-screen, revealing that he had never met Bambam before they began shooting the movie.

“That movie was the first time I had ever met her. But people started saying we slept together and were dating, which was completely false,” he added.

Teddy A’s marriage with Bambam, which produced two children, has hit the rocks owing to issues playing out: the couple unfollowing each other on social media and different non-appearances when the children had their birthdays last week.
