Adamawa Christian Pilgrims Board To Airlift 450 To Israel

Adamawa State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board is set to airlift 450 intending Christian pilgrims from the state to Israel.

The executive secretary of the board, Mr Zidon Love, made the disclosure to newsmen yesterday in Yola. Love said most of the pilgrims are from the grassroots, where the 21 local government areas are to produce a minimum of five pilgrims each.

He said the chairmen of respective councils would generate 150 pilgrims, five per LGA and the remaining  comprises officials and security personnel to provide security cover for Israel and Jordan.

The National Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC) are expected to commence screening of pilgrims today, preparatory to take off at the Yola International Airport latest this week.

Love said N1.7 million is expended on each pilgrim by the state government and said none of the pilgrims had absconded from the state when he took over the office.
