Over 65,000 poor vulnerable persons have been enrolled in the ongoing Federal Government Enterprise Empowerment Programme (GEEP) in Katsina State.

This was revealed by the team leader and technical adviser to the minister for humanitarian affairs, under the GEEP project, Hajiya Zainab Musawa, at the presidential rally of the APC in Katsina, where she joined some beneficiaries to thank President Muhammadu Buhari for empowering the poor people.

She said the programme registered about 300,000 verified people across the country, adding that “Katsina State has about 65,000 people registered out of the 300,000 people that have benefited so far in different categories.”

She reiterated that the programme which runs in every local government area of the country is aimed at giving interest free loans in three categories, comprising; trader money, market money and farmer money, respectively.
