Adamawa State government has announced the resignation of Commissioner for Health and Human Services,
Chief Felix Tangwami and his counterpart in ministry of Livestock and Aquaculture Development
Tijjani Maksha, with an immediate effect.
The Council made the disclosure, Wednesday during State Executive Council Meeting, presided over by the state deputy governor Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta, held at Government House Yola
Announcing the resignation to journalists, shortly after the meeting, Commssioner for Information and Strategy, Mr James Iliya, said the resignation will enable the two former commissioners to seek for elective position during the 2027 general elections.
Meanwhile, Iliya said the sum of N7,066,907.07 was approved as contract for the renovation of examination halls, class rooms, offices and fencing of selected secondary and primary schools across the state
The approved is to ensure good learning environment is made available for education to thrive in the state
Also approved is N459,694,685.85 kobo for supply and installation of 20 kilometre distribution of water pipelines within mubi town
He noted that since 1989 mubi town has no water supply, exposing residents to outbreak of water borne diseases like cholera
Equally the meeting
ratified the administrative approval of N147,958,358,97k for water supply network at the newly constructed Yola main market, located in Yola south.
Also awarded during today’s session is N149,707,497.00 for the upgrade of Internally Displaced Persons (IDP), Camp Damare in Girei
local government area to ensure good environment foe IDPs.
However, Commissioner for Education and human Capital Development Dr Umar Garba-Pella, as well as that of Water Resources Mr Ayuba Audu Tanko, who
explained more on the approval made for their various ministries said the approval is inline with good policies to better its citizens.
The Council further frowned at non compliance of environmental sanitation exercise being conducted monthly and urged people to expedite action to improve hygiene in the state
