The Adamawa State Government has earmarked N40.63 billion for the education sector in the 2026 budget, reaffirming the administration of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s commitment to delivering quality and inclusive education across the state.

The allocation is expected to drive major improvements in the sector, with funds set aside for the construction of new schools and the rehabilitation and maintenance of existing educational facilities, creating a more conducive learning environment for students.

The budget also prioritises the welfare and capacity development of teachers through improved incentives, training, and professional development programmes to enhance teaching standards and learning outcomes.

In addition, the government plans to expand access to education by providing local and foreign scholarships to support students at various levels, as part of its broader human capital development agenda.

Officials said the 2026 education budget will also cover several other programmes and projects designed to strengthen the sector, reduce learning gaps, and prepare students with the skills needed for social and economic development. The state government reiterated its resolve to continue investing in education as a key driver of growth and long-term development in Adamawa State.
