An Adamawa-based philanthropist, Abdulrahman Bashir Haske, has reaffirmed his commitment to work with the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to deliver democratic dividends to the people of Adamawa State as stakeholder consultations and political engagements intensify ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Haske, also a governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), commended the party leadership for fostering unity and strengthening internal cohesion. He also said the ongoing consultations would further consolidate the APC’s position in the state and enhance its chances in the next electoral cycle.
His remarks came against the backdrop of the grand reception held on Monday in Yola for Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, who formally joined the APC, in a development widely seen as a significant shift in Adamawa’s political landscape.
The event, held at Ribadu Square, drew a large crowd of party supporters, stakeholders, and political leaders from across the state, turning the venue into a vibrant display of party solidarity. Observers said the reception not only marked Fintiri’s entry into the ruling party but also signalled a broader realignment aimed at strengthening the state’s connection with the federal government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Amid the celebrations, Haske’s presence attracted notable attention, with supporters and youth groups expressing enthusiasm over his perceived role in the state’s political future. Many attendees described the growing support for Haske as an indication of increasing grassroots engagement, particularly among young people, driven by his community-based initiatives and empowerment programmes.
While the event was primarily organised to welcome Governor Fintiri into the APC, political analysts noted that it also provided a platform for emerging figures within the party to connect with supporters and reinforce their visibility ahead of 2027.
