The Adamawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission has commenced preparations for the 2027 Hajj following its first post-Hajj management meeting chaired by the Acting Executive Chairman, Malam Abubakar Salihu.
At the meeting, the chairman commended members of the various committees for their dedication and contributions to the successful conduct of the 2026 Hajj exercise. He gave special recognition to the Airport Committee for its outstanding performance throughout the operation.
The management also reviewed the challenges encountered during the 2026 pilgrimage, particularly in Makkah and the Masha’ir, and condemned the circulation of false information on social media intended to tarnish the image of the Commission.
As part of preparations for the 2027 Hajj, the Commission approved several measures aimed at enhancing planning and service delivery. These include:
- Early payment of Hajj fares by intending pilgrims, with a minimum deposit of ₦5 million before the stipulated deadline.
- The reintroduction of mandatory Hajj orientation classes for at least three months before departure.
- Stricter medical screening to ensure that all intending pilgrims are physically fit for the pilgrimage.
The Commission also pledged to strengthen pilgrims’ welfare by improving feeding arrangements and healthcare services during the pilgrimage.
It was disclosed that 1,528 pilgrims performed the 2026 Hajj through the Adamawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission.
Malam Salihu thanked members of staff and committee members for their commitment and dedication to the success of the 2026 Hajj operation. He urged prospective pilgrims to comply with the early payment requirements to enable the Commission plan effectively and ensure a smooth and successful 2027 Hajj exercise.
