Adamawa Varsity To Get New VC

The Governing Council of Adamawa State University, ADSU Mubi, has approved the appointment of Dr Stephen A. Lagu as the new vice chancellor.

The chairman of the council, Alhaji Awal Tukur, made the announcement at the institution’s liaison office in Yola, yesterday.

Tukur said the appointment is in acting capital, pending the appointment of a substantive VC by the governing board.

Lagu, until his appointment, was the deputy vice chancellor (DVC) Administration of the university.

The new VC was born in 1959, in Gulak local government area, and holds B.Ed. English Language, University of Maiduguri, Masters in 2005 and PhD English for Specific Purpose, Modibbo Adama University in 2016. He was one time dean Faculty of Education ADSU.

The chairman of the Governing Council had earlier announced the resignation of former VC Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, who was nominated as Governor Fintiri’s running mate for 2023 governorship elections. The new VC would resume duty on January 2023.
