Akor Adams has expressed his profound disappointment following Sevilla’s 1-0 defeat to Real Oviedo in Sunday’s LaLiga encounter at the Estadio Municipal Carlos Tartiere.
The loss has dealt a significant blow to the Rojiblancos’ aspirations of avoiding relegation from Spain’s top flight this season.
Luis Garcia’s side faced an uphill battle after Tanguy Nianzou was dismissed seven minutes before half-time, reducing them to ten men. Sevilla, now winless in their last five league fixtures, currently languish in 17th position, precariously close to the drop zone.
“The result was a real shame,” Adams was quoted by Elsevillistas. “It wasn’t what we had prepared with the new manager, and we have to reset and forget this result as soon as possible.”
Addressing the match’s contentious moments, Adams added: “We didn’t lose because of the referees, but we had several incidents go against us. For example, Djibril Sow nearly broke his leg.”
Sevilla will now face a formidable challenge as they prepare to host Atletico Madrid in their next league fixture.
