A female aspirant on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Hon. Oiza Godwin-Bello, has formally submitted her nomination form to contest for the Adavi/Okehi Federal Constituency seat ahead of the party’s primary election.

Godwin-Bello submitted the form at the ADC national secretariat in Abuja, becoming one of the few women seeking elective office in the build-up to the 2027 general elections.

Her aspiration is seen by supporters as part of the growing call for increased participation of women in Nigeria’s political leadership, especially in constituencies where female representation has remained low.

Speaking briefly after the submission, the aspirant said she was prepared for the screening and primary process, expressing confidence in her chances of emerging as the party’s candidate.

She noted that her decision to contest was driven by a desire to contribute to the development of Adavi/Okehi Federal Constituency through inclusive representation and people-focused policies.

Political observers say the entrance of more women into elective contests could help deepen democratic participation and encourage broader inclusion in governance.

Godwin-Bello, who hails from Kogi State, is seeking to represent Adavi/Okehi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives in 2027.
