The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has released updated lists of its convention committee and subcommittees ahead of its forthcoming national convention scheduled for April 14, 2026.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, said the move was aimed at strengthening coordination and ensuring a smooth and credible convention process.
According to the statement, the updated lists form part of the party’s broader preparations for the convention, with members urged to discharge their responsibilities diligently while stakeholders were called upon to support the process.
The list, signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Chinedu Idigo, confirmed the appointment of key figures into the convention planning structure.
Notably, the National Convention Central Coordination Committee is chaired by former Cross River State governor, Liyel Imoke, with former Sokoto State governor, Aminu Tambuwal, serving as deputy chairman.
The development comes amid ongoing internal leadership tensions within the party and a standoff with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
INEC had earlier derecognised the David Mark-led ADC national leadership pending the resolution of court cases, with hearing dates coinciding with the scheduled convention.
Despite these challenges, the ADC has reiterated its determination to proceed with its congresses and national convention as part of efforts to reposition and strengthen its structures ahead of the 2027 general elections.
