Ondo State governor, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa has reacted to the passing of Afenifere leader, late Chief Samuel Ayodele Adebanjo, saying the elder statesman dedicated his life to serving the people.
Adebanjo, a renowned nationalist former chieftain of the defunct National Democratic Coalition (NADECO) died on Friday at the age of 96.
LEADERSHIP gathered that he passed away peacefully at his residence in Lekki, Lagos State on Friday, February 14, 2025.
However, Aiyedatiwa in the condolence message in Akure by his Chief Press Secretary, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan said, “Pa Adebanjo demonstrated unwavering commitment to the values of democracy, justice, and equality in Nigeria.”
“His tireless efforts to promote peace, stability, and prosperity have left an indelible mark on our country’s history.”
The Ondo State governor extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and loved ones of the deceased elder statesman.
“May they find comfort in the knowledge that his legacy will continue to inspire future generations of leaders and citizens,” he said.
