The Imole Campaign Council (TICC) has reiterated its confidence in the chances of Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State to win the 15th August governorship election in Osun State.

It said the massive support for his reelection is rooted in the governor’s performance.

The party noted that the daily influx of APC members into the Accord is a pointer to where the people stand regarding the upcoming election.

Speaking with reporters in Osogbo, the spokesperson for the Imole Campaign Council (TICC), Pelumi Olajengbesi, said democracy is a game of numbers and that, in Osun today, Governor Adeleke is the choice of the people.

He noted that while the people are daily professing their acceptance of Governor Adeleke by aligning with his re-election bid, the Osun APC is busy promoting violence and terrorising the people.

“As a campaign, we maintain that winning support should be voluntary, not coerced through threat or force. If the people are rejecting the APC, it is because it failed them in the past, and they cannot trust it with their leadership.

“We expect the APC to reflect on its past misdeeds, show remorse and apologise to the people.

Thinking it can Lord itself on the people through violence has no place in a democracy, and we strongly reject this Armstrong tactic that tries to usurp the power of the people to make their choice freely,” Olajengbesi posited.

According to him, the support for Adeleke is rooted in performance, and no amount of violence or threats will dissuade it across Osun, adding that the people appreciate what Governor Adeleke has done so far and want the good work to continue.
