Former secretary to the Osun State government, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti, has tendered his letter of resignation from the Omoluabi Progressives in Osun State.
Adeoti, the deputy leader of Omoluwabi Progressives, in a letter he personally signed and made available to journalists in Osogbo, attributed his withdrawal from the group and its activities to pressure from family members, who urged him to take a short rest from all political activities.
The letter read in part: “I hereby tender this letter of withdrawal from the group, which 1 co-founded with other progressive-minded individuals across the state. This also includes my complete withdrawal from all the group activities henceforth”.
Adeoti, in the letter, while expressing his gratitude to his fellow ‘progressives’, also noted that he would step aside from all political activities.
“My decision to withdraw was never an easy one, especially each time 1 looked back and considered all my investments into ensuring the survival of the group throughout its turbulent period from its inception till date. Coupled with this has been the pressure from my family members, both immediate and extended, on the need to take an immediate short rest from all political activities,” he said.
Meanwhile, Adeoti was sighted at the unveiling of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) by the national secretary of the party in Osogbo last Wednesday.
Efforts made to talk to him did not yield positive results as of the time of filing this report.
