The DisCo also pledged compensation for the customers affected for the inconveniences caused by the service disruptions.

In a public notice on their official Facebook page on Saturday, AEDC acknowledged the shortfall in its service and provided details on the affected feeders and the major areas they serve.

The feeders in question, which supply power to key locations in Garki, Asokoro, Wuse, and Maitama areas of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) reported average supply hours below the targeted 20-hour mark.

AEDC have the affected feeders supplying the areas as:
Garki: Feeder H11 G32,5A: CBN Quarters, Birnin Kebbi Street, FCDA Quarters, Drum Stix (19.92 hours).
Feeder H11 G32,9B : Garki Village, Garki Clinic (19.79 hours).
Feeder H2, G4 3B : Police Cantonment and EFAB Mall (19.17 hours).

Asokoro: Feeder H3, R5 1B: Mogadishu Barrack (19.75 hours).

Wuse: Feeder 4, B33, 8B: Ministry of Transport and ICA Plaza (18.13 hours)
Feeder 4, B33, 10A: Federal Secretariat (19.58 hours).

Maitama: Feeder 33W: Niles Street, Mississippi Street (19.25 hours)

AEDC emphasised its commitment to improving service delivery and ensuring that such disruptions do not occur in the future.

The company also said its customers would be notified regarding the details of their compensation for the inconvenience experienced.

The public reaction has been mixed, with some customers expressing frustration over the repeated service issues, while others appreciate the transparency and commitment to compensation.

One resident of Garki commented, “It’s good to know that AEDC is taking responsibility and offering compensation, but we need more reliable power supply.”
