Do We Need NASS?

Regardless of what one thinks of him, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, former Edo State governor is brutally blunt. And he demonstrated that recently when he warned his colleagues at the upper chambers against rubber-stamping bills.

Oshiomhole was worried that the senate passed some bills without scrutiny. Well, the only people who don’t know that the Nigerian national assembly is rubber stamp are the members of the national assembly. The discerning Nigerian public know that we have a national assembly that exists to merely rubber-stamp what the executive sends to it, pad budget and cut deals. Do we even need the National Assembly?
