Nigeria’s Super Eagles yesterday left Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital to Kigali ahead of their second group qualifying match for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations match against Rwanda slated for Tuesday September 10, 2024.

The team led by interim coach Austin Eguavoen aboarded a chartered flight from Uyo international airport.

The three time African champions and 2023 runners started their campaign for a ticket to Morocco 2025 on Saturday, thrashing loud-mouthed Benin Republic 3-0 in Uyo.

Ballon d’Or nominee Ademola Lookman netted brace, while reigning African footballer of the year Victor Osimhen came as substitute to score the second of the match before Lookman scored the third goal and sealed the victory for Nigeria.

The Super Eagles are expected to hold training sessions in Kigali today before Tuesday’s clash with the home team at the Amahoro Stadium.
