African Games bronze medalist, Usheoritse Itsekiri is the new fastest man in Nigeria in the men’s 100m after blistering to an equal personal record of 10.02s at the Nigerian Athletics Championships at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin.
By so doing, he equalled his Personal Best (PB) from 2019, the same year he won his first national title, with this being his second over 100m. Behind him was Favour Ashe who laid claim to 2nd place, followed by Seye Ogunlewe and Enoch Adegoke.
Last month, Itsekiri stormed to a Personal Best (PB) of 20.34s in the men’s 200m ahead of Jeremiah Lauzon (20.83s) and Michael Roth (20.85s) at the Johnny Loaring Classic in Ontario, showing fine form ahead of the National Championships.
The University of Regina Masters of Engineering student continues to improve his track record as he is ranked first in U-Sports in Canada for the 60 meter dash on an indoor track in February 2023.
