Team Nigeria’s Chukwuebuka Enekwechi has defended his title as African Games champions, winning gold medal in the Shot Put for Nigeria.
The 31-year-old wins the men’s shot put final, with a throw of 21.06m
Enekwechi, who holds both the national and African Games records, launched a throw of 21.06 meters, proving too strong for his rivals, including his compatriot, Emeka Moses Ugwu.
Egyptians Mostafa Amr Hassan and Mohamed Magdi Hamza put up a valiant fight to secure the silver and bronze medals respectively, with throws of 20.70 metres and 20.29 metres.
