Throughout the afrobeat song, the instrumentation builds, incorporating layers of guitars, drums and saxophones heightening the emotional impact of the message. The lyrics express a plea for understanding, urging listeners to recognize the urgency of addressing this pervasive issue.

Afroblackish is a distinguished afrobeat musician, song writer and a multi- instrumentalist based in Osogbo, Osun State in Southwest Nigeria. “Addiction” is a powerful and emotive song that condemns drug abuse with its evocative lyrics and compelling melodies. It serves as a reminder of the devastating impact addiction can have and calls for empathy, understanding, and action to support those affected.

The track also serve as beacons of hope, reminding listeners that recovery is possible and that support and understanding are crucial in breaking free from the chains of addiction,” says the musician who is inspired by great musicians like late Orlando Julius Ekemode who mentored him during his lifetime.
