James John, popularly known as Afroblackish is out with a new song titled addiction.

The new single, addiction (Afesodi in Yoruba language) was released a week ago and is an attempt in admonishing youths to shun vices that lead to addiction and endanger their lives. The saxophonist through his new song, ‘addiction’ preaches to youths and Nigerians to imbibe virtues like hardwork, patience, fear of God and positivity.

Throughout the afrobeat song, the instrumentation builds, incorporating layers of guitars, drums and saxophones heightening the emotional impact of the message. The lyrics express a plea for understanding, urging listeners to recognize the urgency of addressing this pervasive issue.

Afroblackish is a distinguished afrobeat musician, song writer and a multi- instrumentalist based in Osogbo, Osun State in Southwest Nigeria. “Addiction” is a powerful and emotive song that condemns drug abuse with its evocative lyrics and compelling melodies. It serves as a reminder of the devastating impact addiction can have and calls for empathy, understanding, and action to support those affected.
