The Eke Amanvu Market in Nkalagu community in Ishielu local government area of Ebonyi State abandoned by successive local and state government administrations for over 25 Years has been reconstructed and remodelled by the senator representing Ebonyi Central senatorial district, Senator Obinna Ogba.

The market which is one of the major markets in Nkalagu community before its abandonment attracts customers from Enugu State, Ebonyi State and other communities in Benue State.

The people of Amanvu, Nkalagu community who were elated by the construction of the new Eke Amanvu modern market said the market which is now open again for business will help them to be selling their agricultural produce as they had to take their produce to other markets to sell.

Speaking during the handover of the market, chairman of the community, Comrade Felix Ogba noted that the modern market will make Amanvu a business hub that will attract patronage from far and near.

“The Eke market is here to serve the commercial purpose of Amanvu Nkalagu, her neighbouring brothers and sisters and far away traders,” he stated.

He commended Senator Ogba for constructing the market which he said has lifted the community.

Ogba while handing over the market to the community, explained that it was not easy to construct and commended the people for their support which led to the completion of the project.

On the governorship position he contested which he couldn’t get his party’s ticket, the chairman Senate Committee on Youth and Sports urged the people to remain calm as according to him, the situation in the state was temporal.

“Don’t bother yourself, whatever that is happening in Ebonyi is temporary and God is in control of everything. Your destiny can be delayed but it cannot be denied,” he said.
