Former Cross River State Governor, Mr  Donald Duke, has again dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

He registered as a member in Ward 5 of Calabar Municipality and received his membership card amid cheers from supporters.

This is Duke’s second time of leaving the PDP.

He previously joined the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and ran for president, though his candidacy was surrounded by controversies.

The ADC leadership in Bakassi had urged Cross Riverians to join the party, saying it would bring transformative change to Nigeria.

Party leaders in the area accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of misrule, saying it’s time for Nigerians to take back their country.

In a statement, the ADC Bakassi chapter chairman, Emmanuel Asuquo, and secretary, Eko Boco, welcomed Duke and invited others to join the party.

They reaffirmed their support for the national leadership of Senator David Mark and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.

The party leaders pledged to work towards building a strong and united party. Duke’s decision to join the ADC is seen as a significant move, given his political influence in Cross River State.
