Agro Firm Empowers 77 Youths With Training On Modern Agriculture

An indigenous agricultural company in Bayelsa State, Eone AgriProduct Limited, in collaboration with the commissioner of youth development, Mr Alfred Kemepado, have successfully enrolled 77 young farmers from Bayelsa State in the ongoing Mastercard Foundation EYiA program facilitated by Soilless Farmlab.

This was disclosed in a statement yesterday by the CEO of Eone, Mr Preye Erenyanate, after the beneficiaries who departed from Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, on Friday, had arrived safely at the training facility in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Erenyanate noted that the EYiA initiative would equip the participants with essential skills in climate-smart agriculture and modern agricultural techniques, adding that the gesture was a significant step by the organization and other relevant stakeholders towards youth empowerment and agricultural innovation.

He said, “Over the next three months, these young individuals will undergo comprehensive training focused on greenhouse setup and various aspects of the agricultural value chain.

“By integrating modern practices into traditional agriculture, the program not only aims to enhance food security but also to provide sustainable livelihood opportunities for the youth of Bayelsa State.

“This collaboration underscores the importance of innovative agricultural solutions in addressing economic and environmental challenges in the region.”
