An associate professor of Systematic theology and Director, Jos study center, National Open University of Nigeria, Professor Philip Tachin, has described Senator George Akume as one who knows the dynamics of governance.

Prof. Tachin spoke in an interview with journalists while reacting to the appointment of Senator Akume as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation SGF by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Tachin who is also a pastor with the Universal Reformed Christian Church (URCC) said Akume having served as governor of Benue State for two terms, 12 years as  senator, minister and a retired permanent secretary, he had enriched himself with the dynamics of governance and administration.

While describing Akume as very brilliant human being with great wisdom, diplomatic and careful in all his approaches, he expressed optimism that he would deliver on his new assignment.

The former executive chairman of Benue State Universal Basic Education Board appreciated the president for appointing Akume, pointing that the president had seen in Akume the experience he needs to back up his governance.

“As governor Akume excelled, as senator, he delt with issues affecting Nigerians. Akume is a very intelligent and brilliant human being, I have interacted with him for quite a number of times and I can assure you that he is a man of great wisdom and a large heart to accommodate everybody.

“Tinubu has seen all the reservoirs and experience in him that he needs to back up his governance. He is definitely going to help in organizing the government of President Tinubu. I strongly have confidence that he will help guide the government to  fulfil the blue print ‘Our ‘Renewed hope’; Prof. Tachin said.

He said every Benue citizen should rise up and rejoice for the appointment including those who betrayed Akume in one way or the other in the cause of politics because the state had been reconnected with the central government and the benefit is for all.

Tachin said Akume is representing the interests of all Nigerians so he needs support from everyone.
