Akwa Ibom First Lady Rallies Support For Govt’s ‘Arise Agenda’

As Akwa Ibom State turns 36 today, the wife of the governor, Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, has appealed to the people to bury the sentiments of party politics and join hands with her husband to consolidate on the achievements of successive administrations in the last 36 years.

Addressing residents and indigenes in the Diaspora as part of activities marking the  creation of the state, Mrs Eno appealed for all hands to be on the deck to ensure the success of the ‘Arise Agenda’ blueprint enunciated by her husband to further chart the course of development.

While noting the steady progress made by the previous governors, the first lady expressed confidence in the present government’s  capacity to deliver on campaign promises, describing the governor as “a man of sincerity, commitment and passion for service.”

She appealed to the media community to be in the vanguard of development by projecting the activities of the ‘Arise Agenda’, even as she enjoined journalists to utilise their position as the link between the government and the people to bring  to the fore, the concerns and yearnings of Akwa Ibom people to in order to guide government in serving the people efficiently.

Mrs Eno said she was committed to engaging in activities that would benefit humanity under her soon-to-be-launched pet – project which she disclosed, would focus on all facets of the society, assuring Akwa Ibom people that her primary role under the current administration is to provide support by reaching out to the vulnerable and less privileged.
