Algeria To Host 3rd Africa Military Games

Algeria has been confirmed as the host of the 3rd All Africa Military Games (AMGA).

The north African nation received the baton of the hosting right for the next edition of the games following the successful conclusion of the second All Africa Military Games 2024 in Abuja on Saturday night, November 30, 2024.

AMGA 2024 ended with a colourful closing ceremony at the main bowl of Moshood Abiola National Stadium Abuja, featuring Nigerian musical star Omawumi and Nigerian cultural troupe showcasing Nigeria’s culture and unity in diversity.

Team Nigeria Armed Forces overwhelming won AMGA 2024 with 234 medals, comprising of 114 gold, 65 silver and 55 bronze.

Algeria finished in distant second with a total of 96 medals of 64 gold, 22 silver and 22 bronze medals.

Team Kenya placed third with 21 gold, 17 silver and 12 bronze, totalling 50 medals. Ghana finished fourth with a total medals of 36, comprising seven gold, 14 silver and 15 bronze medals, while Ethiopia complete the top five on the medal table with 16 medals of six gold, eight silver and two bronze.

A total of 20 countries took part in the 12-day African Military Games with Zambia, Sierra Leone, Democratic Republic of Congo and Equatorial Guinea ending their campaign without winning a single medal respectively.
