The Board of Trustees (BoT) of Association of Local Government of Nigeria, (ALGON) has felicitated with Nigerian Christians and Christians all over the world on the occasion of Easter to mark the end of the Lenten season.
In a statement issued at the weekend, the secretary of the BoT of ALGON, Hon. Chukwudi Fred Ezinwa described Easter celebration as a season of solemn and sober reflections, after the time-tested Lenten season of love, sacrifice, compassion.
He prayed that the triumphant sacrifice of death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and his legacy for humanity overshadow evils at all times.
He called on citizens to seize the opportunity provided by the season to strengthen their faith in God, foster unity in diversity for the collective growth of the nation.
Ezinwa in the statement wished the Christian community all over Nigeria a blissful and happy Easter celebration.
