“A team of detectives while on patrol of the town around Oke-Ira Ilogbo Remi, got a hint of the incident and raced down to the scene where they beheld Mr Dike holding the lifeless body of his wife soaked in her own blood crying and calling for help,” he said.

Hundeyin said that police officers inspected the body and discovered that the deceased had died while they promptly arrested Dike and took him into custody.

The corpse was deposited at the Badagry General Hospital mortuary for autopsy.

Hundeyin added that Dike confessed to the crime during interrogation, disclosing that the case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Panti for further investigation.
