Speaking at the inauguration, GIHAA president, Omotola Ifafore, said the association was founded to strengthen alumni ties and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of the Hall and the broader University community.

“Our mission is rooted in collective endeavor and mutual commitment. Together, we can create a lasting impact,” Ifafore stated.

As part of its first philanthropic effort, GIHAA is donating a public address system to the student body of Great Independence Hall to improve communication during events and activities.

The association also outlined plans to facilitate networking opportunities for alumni, support scholarships for students, and embark on projects that benefit the local community.

“In concert, we can cultivate a dynamic and supportive community that truly exemplifies the spirit of Great Independence Hall,” Ifafore added, while calling on all alumni and the general public to join and support GIHAA’s initiatives.
