The Enitonna High School Alumni Association is set to unveil a strategic development agenda that prioritises infrastructure renewal and digital transformation to reposition the 93-year-old institution.

Its national president, Sir Godfrey Ohuabunwa, in a statement yesterday, said the blueprint was a direct response to the urgent need to modernise learning facilities while preserving the school’s heritage as the oldest secondary school in the old Rivers/Bayelsa States.

“Infrastructure renewal tops the masterplan’s agenda, with plans to rehabilitate classrooms, laboratories, libraries and boarding facilities to meet contemporary educational standards.

“Digital transformation forms the second pillar, targeting smart classrooms, e-libraries, reliable internet access and technology-driven teaching to prepare students for global competitiveness.

“Academic advancement is also central to the plan, focusing on curriculum enrichment, teacher capacity development, and partnerships with higher institutions to raise learning outcomes,” he said.

Ohuabunwa stressed that student welfare received dedicated attention through improved healthcare, counselling, sports development, and scholarship schemes aimed at creating a holistic learning environment.

The master plan further outlines measures for institutional sustainability, including endowment funds, transparent governance, and revenue-generating ventures to reduce dependence on government subvention.
