Convener of the 100 Most Notable Africans Leadership and Business Summit, Ambassador Kingsley Amafibe, has been appointed head of Africa Development Affairs at the International Forum for Peace and Diplomacy.
Amafibe is also the founder of the Peace Ambassador Agency and the Davdan Peace and Advocacy Foundation.
The year 2025 proved particularly demanding for Amafibe and his organisations, marked by sustained efforts to promote peace, dialogue and consensus-building across Africa and beyond. He began the year in Ghana, where he participated in a global peace engagement focused on the role of stability in economic growth and sustainable development.
This was followed by the 100 Most Notable Peace Icon Africa (MNPIA) ceremony in Kigali, Rwanda, an event that blended peace advocacy with cultural expression, including a fashion runway designed to showcase Africa’s rich heritage.
The Kigali outing was succeeded by the Peace Achievers International Conference and Awards held at the Congress Hall of the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, where individuals and institutions contributing to peace, national security and social cohesion were recognised.
Amafibe also undertook a strategic visit to Morocco, engaging relevant authorities on plans to host the 2026 edition of the 100 Most Notable Africans Leadership and Business Summit in Marrakech. The year’s activities culminated in the Abuja all-white party, an initiative designed to promote relaxation, wellness and productivity among residents, effectively rounding off a busy calendar of engagements.
Despite the successes recorded, the year was not without challenges. Ahead of his Rwanda trip, Amafibe survived a robbery incident at his residence, where burglars reportedly made away with valuables, resulting in significant financial loss. The incident, however, did not derail his commitments, as he continued with his peace advocacy efforts across borders.
While in the United States, Amb. Amafibe is expected to engage with stakeholders and explore new partnerships that align with his organisations’ mission of advancing peace and development. In a January interview with AlexReports, he had described his 2025 agenda as one centred on driving change and development through peacebuilding, a goal observers say he has consistently pursued throughout the year.
Expressing appreciation to partners and supporters for their solidarity, Amafibe noted that their backing was instrumental to the achievements recorded in 2025. He assured that 2026 promises greater impact, with the Morocco summit scheduled to take place from June 19 to 21 in Marrakech, setting the tone for another year of expanded continental and global engagement.
