The African Director of the International Association Of World Peace Advocates IAWPA has commended the Nigeria Immigration Services NIS over its decision to acquire aircrafts and Drones to checkmate illegal migrations on the country’s borders.
The acting Comptroller-General, Nigeria Immigration Services, Mrs Caroline Adepoju, has stated that the service will procure aircraft, helicopters, and drones, to strengthen the country’s border security and management a move the African Director of IAWPA Amb. Johnny Metchie said was good in the efforts to bring about peace.
The global advocacy group also lauded the electronic gate which the NIS plans to introduce next year. Amb. Metchie who made the statement as part of his serial briefings ahead of the forthcoming Immigrants day coming up December 18th in Abuja.
Amb. Emmanuel Nkweke the internation Spokesman of the association who shared the message to newsmen made attachment to the statement hailing the efforts of the Immigration Service under it’s present leadership and men of the service who have been carrying out it’s duties professionally.
The statement further said IAWPA as an international organisation pursuing global and regional peace is concerned about the rising crime rate within the country’s borders which is threatening peace within the West African sub region hence “our decision to organize the International Day of Police Cooperation which proved to be succeful and now, we will be organizing the Immigrants Day. This shows how committed we are with issues bothering on our country’s borders” the statement said.
