Amotekun Parades 9 Suspects For Various Alleged Offences

Western Nigeria Security Network, also known as Amotekun Corps in Osun, on Monday, paraded a woman, 30, arrested over alleged possession of counterfiet currency notes.

The Amotekun Field Commander in Osun , Dr Omoyele Adekunle, said the command also arrested eight other suspects for various offences.

He said that the command’s operatives acting on intelligence arrested the woman at Sabo market in Ilesa while using counterfeit N1000 notes to buy food stuffs.

Adekunle said the suspect when interrogated claimed to have received the fake Naira notes from one a woman in Abuja, who sent it to her through a dispatch rider

The Amotekun Field Commander said that the suspect alleged that she paid N50,000 for the N200,000 fake notes.

Adekunle further said that some other suspects were apprehended for offences which included; burglary and stealing; murder, motorcycle snatching, theft of transformer cables and attempted kidnapping .

He said that all the suspects would be handed over to the police for further investigation and prosecution.

Adekunle urged the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious happenings around their domain to security agencies.

He called for the collaboration of other sister security agencies to help secure lives and property in the state. (NAN)
