Vigilantes Rescue Kidnap Victim From Kogi Forest

The Kogi State Vigilante Service yesterday announced the rescue of a kidnap victim at Irewagere forest in Adavi local government area of the state after his abduction by suspected armed bandits around Obajana.
Spokesman of the vigilante service, Idris S. Idris, identified the victim as Mansur Yakubu, whom he said was in the kidnappers’ den for 10 days.

He said the successful operation was sequel to a painstaking search of the forest and a gun duel with armed gang following intelligence report about the route and movement of the criminals.

“Mansur, who was taken by the KSVS to a facility for medical treatment after his rescue, was subsequently handed over to the police at Oscars Division for debriefing and onward release to join his family.
