Nigerian sprint hurdles sensation, Tobi Amusan, continued her impressive return to form on Sunday, storming to victory in the women’s 100m hurdles at the Rabat Diamond League in Morocco.

The African and world record holder delivered a dominant performance, crossing the finish line in 12.28 seconds. This effort equalled her season’s best and established a new meeting record, with a legal wind reading of +1.2m/s.

Amusan finished comfortably ahead of Devynne Charlton of the Bahamas, who secured second place in 12.40 seconds, while Nadine Visser from the Netherlands took third in 12.47 seconds.

This win further highlights the Nigerian star’s increasing momentum as she approaches a busy international season. Amusan has been steadily building form throughout the year, delivering strong performances in the initial two Diamond League meetings in China before extending her excellent run in Rabat.

Her latest triumph follows another significant success, having recently clinched gold in the women’s 100m hurdles at the Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) Senior Athletics Championships in Accra, Ghana, reaffirming her status as Africa’s leading hurdler.

After a challenging 2024 season by her own high standards, Amusan appears to be rediscovering the rhythm and confidence that established her as a global star. The 12.28-second run in Rabat not only matched her season’s best but also sent a clear message to her rivals as major championships loom later this year.

With victories in Accra and Rabat, alongside encouraging displays on the Diamond League circuit, the Nigerian star looks firmly on track to challenge for more accolades and further solidify her position among the world’s elite sprint hurdlers.
