An aspirant for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the coming November 2025 Anambra State governorship election, Professor Obiora Okonkwo, has promised that his administration would institutionalise the popular “Igbo apprenticeship scheme” if elected into office.
He stated that education and human capital development would form the foundation for the regeneration of Anambra State in his administration.
“We will prioritise quality education, vocational training, and, skills development to ensure that our young people are equipped for the future. In addition, we shall take strategic and collaborative steps to institutionalise “Nkwado Ogaranya” (Igba Boi) so that we may re-invigorate the entrepreneurural spirit of Ndi Anambra”, Okonkwo stated while addressing APC members from the 326 wards in the state to inform them of his intention to fly the party’s ticket in the coming state’s governorship election.
The chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of the African Airline who assembled the APC members at his Ire village in Ogidi community, Idemili-North local government yesterday praised the performances of the President Bola Tinubu-led federal government, and, pledged and cascade the transformation agenda of the APC-led central government to Anambra State.
He said, “Anambra is a land of limitless potential, blessed with some of the brightest minds, the most industrious entrepreneurs, and, the most resilient people in Nigeria” lamenting however that, “But for too long, our great state has not lived up to its full promise.
“We have watched with concern as opportunities have been lost, governance has fallen short of expectations, and, the pains and horror of insecurity have left our people living in the bondage of fear. Today our people cry for real security.”
